এডগার অ্যালান পো একাধারে ছিলেন একজন মার্কিন লেখক, কবি, সম্পাদক এবং সাহিত্য সমালোচক। পো তার লেখা কবিতা, ছোট গল্প এবং বিশেষ করে মৃত্যুর সাথে সম্বন্ধযুক্ত ছোটগল্প ও রহস্য গল্পগুলোর জন্য সবচেয়ে বেশি পরিচিত। ১৮০৯ সালে ১৯ জানুয়ারি আমেরিকার বোস্টন শহরে তিনি জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। তার বাবা ডেভিড পো এবং মা এলিজাবেথ পো। ১৮৪৯ সালের ৭ অক্টোবর তিনি মারা যান।
